CCH Receives
Funding for Medical Office Building
Congressman
Zach Wamp and officials from USDA Rural Development and Powell Valley
Electric Cooperative were present at the CCH Education Building on Tuesday,
August 28, for an announcement of $300,000 in federal funding to establish a
revolving loan fund.
The funding
was given as a grant to Powell Valley Electric Cooperative as part of USDA
Rural Development’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant program, and
PVEC is loaning the money to Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home as a
zero-interest loan to assist with the construction of our new medical office
building. Several hospital staff and community leaders also attended the
ceremony, where Congressman Wamp stated, “This Rural Development grant to
help build a new medical office building will enhance and improve health
care in Claiborne County.” CCH Administrator Tim Brown thanked those present
for their support of health care in Claiborne County, and noted that the
medical office building was one of several new projects planned for
Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home. As you have certainly noticed,
construction on the 30,000 sq. ft. building is ongoing, with an anticipated
completion date in January 2008. Good things keep happening at Claiborne
County Hospital and Nursing Home!
