April Wagner, August 2011, Employee of the Month 

eom 2011-08April Wagner has been chosen as the August Employee of the Month.  April is the Lead Biller for the Insurance Department and has been working at Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home since 2005.  Fellow co-worker, Mary Muse, nominated April. Mary stated that April goes beyond her duties by making sure that all the clerks in the department have a little surprise on holidays and their birthdays.  Mary also stated that April surprises all the clerks by making sure they have a cupcake sitting on their desk waiting for them when they come in on the birthday.  “April is always giving and doing.  She is an awesome biller and always makes sure the bill is correct before it is dropped”  says Mary.  Andrea, April’s manger, states “April has been a loyal employee for 6 years, is always to ready to assist anyone, whether it be the clerks in the department or patients that come in with questions.  I appreciate her initiative and hard work”.

 April lives in Speedwell with her husband of 21 years, their daughter, Mackenzie, and their dachshund, Lil’ Mark.  She loves spending time with her family and UT football and basketball.  She stated that she feels her co-workers are her second family.  She also states “I love my job, it’s demanding at times, but also satisfying knowing I can help our patients and my co-workers with their needs.” 

 

 

Tracy Keck, July 2011, Employee of the Month 

eom 2011-07Tracy Keck has been chosen as the July Employee of the Month.  Tracy is an LPTA who has been working at Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home since 2009.  Fellow co-worker, Terri Atkins, nominated Tracy.  Terri stated that Tracy goes way beyond caring for her patients by buying things they need and taking the items to the patients.  Tracy’s manager, Lieven Cox, states “Tracy is a great colleague and a wonderful human being.  She genuinely cares for her patients and has gone as far as delivering supplies to their homes or checking on them after hours.  She is a true team player and always lends a helping hand to a colleague or patient in need.  We are very fortunate to have Tracy as a member of our rehab team.” 

Tracy is married to Nick Keck and is the mother of two daughters, Malory who is 4 and Molly who will be 1 on July 12.  Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to church, and camping.  Tracy states, “I am very blessed to have a job where I work with such great people that I consider good friends.  I love to put a smile on people’s faces and help them feel better.”

 

 

 

Debra Crosby selected as the employee of the month for June 2011! 

eom2011-06Debra was nominated by fellow co-worker Bruce McDowell and supervisor Betsy Maples.  Bruce commented that "Deb is always helpful to the Maintenance Department, going above the call of duty.  If it wasn't for her, our Joint Commission inspection would have not gone as well as it did.  Deb has strong moral and social values, and shows them on a daily basis.  If anybody has a problem, she is ready to help.  I look up to her helpful attitude and kindness."  Betsy stated, "Deb always helps other departments when they need assistance and often offers to help other employees with projects as she has time.  She is always looking for ways to improve hospital services and wants everyone to do well and succeed.  She is concerned for our patients, visitors and staff.

Deb began working here in May 2007 as the Environment of Care Secretary. She has since been given the additional duties of Assistant to the Medical Staff Coordinator. She lives in New Tazewell and is a proud member of Sunrise Missionary Baptist church. She sings with her husband’s family in a gospel group, The James Cosby Family Singers, which is led by her 80 year old father-in-law. She has two sons, two stepsons, and four grandchildren whom she adores. She states that her happiest times are when she is surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoys gardening, food preservation, and flower gardening.

Deb states “I am delighted to be nominated as employee of the month and feel that so many others here are much more deserving than I am. I have two sisters that were previously voted as employee of the month so I have had some excellent role models to follow. I derive deep satisfaction from my work here at the hospital and enjoy new challenges. I am very appreciative of my employer and will always strive to do the very best job that I can.”

  

    

 

 
 Brenda Agee, Employee of the Month for May, 2011 

 

eom2011-05Brenda Agee is May’s Employee of the Month. Brenda has been working as a Unit Secretary at Claiborne County Hospital since 1994. She was nominated by fellow co-worker Nancy Hopkins. Nancy stated that a four-wheeler had flipped on top of her leaving her barely able to walk. When Brenda found out about her accident, she volunteered to come in on her scheduled day off to work in Nancy’s place. Nancy feels that she may have injured herself more if Brenda had not been a ‘true friend’ and worked for her. “Brenda is a very conscientious and dependable employee and is very deserving of this honor!” says Jodi Whitaker, DON.

Brenda lives in Harrogate and enjoys reading, gardening, and little league baseball.  Most of her time off is spent with her great nephews, Bryson and Eli, and her great niece, Mattie.  Brenda states “My parents taught my brothers and myself that if you take care of your job, your job will take care of you.  I’ve found that to be true.”  Brenda also stated that she believes we have a great hospital with great employees!!

 

 

 

 

 

Kristie Lozano chosen as April 2011 Employee of the Month 

eom2011-04Kristie began working as a Receptionist at Multi-Specialty Medical in March 2008. She was nominated for Employee of the Month by Susan Stone. Susan states “Kristie has gone above and beyond her job responsibilities by sweeping cigarette butts from the parking lot and surrounding grassy areas during her break time and time off. She is conscientious of the appearance of this facility; therefore, when she noticed a problem, she found a way to resolve it. She is exceptional at her job and is a valued employee.”  

Kristie’s life away from work is very busy.  She has three wonderful children.  She also has eight dogs at home right now, six of which are newborn puppies.  Kristie is currently helping her mother-in-law through her battle with cancer.  Kristie states “I wok with an amazing group of people that have become family.  I am truly blessed to be where I am today.  It may be crazy hectic at times, but I love my coworkers and I love the patients.  God has been exceptionally great to me, without Him, I know I wouldn’t be here today.”

 

   

 

 

 Danny Lundy has been chosen as the March 2011 Employee of the Month! 

lundy-campbell 1Danny became employed with this facility on February 21, 1984, as a housekeeper. He was nominated for Employee of the Month by Billene Jennings who stated, “At 2:45a.m., Danny found a patient smoking outside. Danny took his coat and gave it to the patient and continued to stay with her until she had finished smoking just to make sure she was safe. Danny then proceeded to get the patient a wheelchair and escorted her back to her room.   His compassion was above and beyond and so many times goes unnoticed. He has such a big heart when it comes to the patients and co-workers.”  

Danny comes from a family of 2 brothers and 3 sisters, with one sister, Annie Lundy, being his twin. He has lived in Claiborne County all of his life and has been married to his wife, Anita, for almost eight years.  As far as any past times, his reputation is well known around town as being a hard worker, so many people keep Danny employed with odd jobs.  Danny states, “I have seen several changes at this facility over the past 27 years and they have always helped the facility grow.  I love working here because of the people and consider it an honor to be employed here.  My main goal is to do the best job I can do and help the residents and public down life’s way. I feel like God has given me a gift so I try to use it the best I can each day.”

 

  

 

  

 

Linda Bean has been chosen as the February 2011 Employee of the Month! 

linda beanLinda Bean began her career with Claiborne County Hospital on October 25, 1993, and currently works as a Radiology Technician. She was nominated by several co-workers in the Radiology Department whom stated, “Linda deserves to be Employee of the Month because she always walks into the department with a smile on her face and ready to work. She loves all her patients and treats them with kindness and compassion. She has taught several of us the importance of slowing down and taking that extra step to make sure all the patients’ needs are met. Every employee could take a lesson from her about having a good attitude and that patient care is the number one priority.”

Linda has been married to Art Bean for 44 years and they have 2 children and 7 grandchildren.   Linda’s hobbies include decorating and refinishing furniture, going to estate sales and auctions, traveling to places she has never been, and listening to 80’s music. Linda noted, “I want to thank Angie, Sara, Mokie, Jim, and Josh for nominating me and I want to thank Claiborne County Hospital for choosing me as Employee of the Month.” Radiology Supervisor, Lisa Estes, stated, “Linda is an excellent employee who is a prime role model for other employees. She has such a positive attitude and her rapport with the patients is wonderful. She is an employee that has always put her patients first. She truly deserves to be Employee of the Month.”

  

 

 

 

  

Tamera Collett chosen as the January 2011, Employee of the Month  

tamara collettTamera Collett has been employed since September 29, 2009, as a housekeeper.  She was nominated for Employee of the Month by Angela Brooks, who stated, “Tamera spent almost an hour of her time helping to locate a lost computer key and she found it. She always has a smile on her face and she is very good at her job. She is patient, kind, and has a consistent temperament. I think we all can consider her a role model.” Tamera is married to Montana Collett and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, going fishing, watching Nascar races, and dealing with horses. Tamera comments, “I really enjoy my job and those that I work with. I appreciate how they make me feel like family.” Mike Campbell, Facilities Director, stated, “Tamera is a good employee and I appreciate all of her hard work and her dedication to the facility.”
