Volunteer Services

The volunteer staff is an essential part of Claiborne County Hospital, Nursing Home, Home Health and Hospice.  Their skills and talents are used in many different areas throughout our organization.

Volunteers manage the information desk by answering the phone and giving directions to families and visitors.  Some volunteers help in the patient care area, while others help families waiting in the OR/CCU waiting area.

The hospital gift shop, The Gift Basket, is staffed completely by volunteers.  The gift shop is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and some evenings until 7:00 p.m.  Weekends vary according to volunteer availability.

The nursing home uses volunteers in many capacities such as resident activities, games, reading to patients and field trips.

The hospice volunteers are vital to our program.  Volunteers assist in various ways, such as; sitting with patients or running errands to relieve the caregiver, monthly bereavement phone calls, monthly mailings, fund raising and clerical duties in the office.

Volunteering is a very rewarding experience.  If you would like to be a part of our Volunteer Team, call Kim Arnold, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at 423-526-2208.
