Oleen Rodgers has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for April 2009!

Employee of Month 2009-04Oleen Rodgers has worked with this facility since April 26, 2004, as an LPN in Home Health.  She was nominated for employee of the month by co-worker,  Betty Davis, who stated, “I observed the overwhelming love for a patient that Oleen gave.  If the patient had a need, she made sure it was met, no matter what the cost personally.  She would consistently come and check on the patient without being asked and went out of her way to assure his pain was relieved by making unselfish late trips to get medicine and delivering them on the same day.  She never complained and made the patient feel that he was the only Hospice patient in the world.  Her tender, caring bedside manner and respect for the dying patient was felt strongly by the patient, and the patient commented many times that Oleen was an inspiration to him.”  As far as Oleen’s personal life, she has been married to Myrl Rodgers for 40 years and they have two sons and four grandchildren with whom Oleen loves to spend time.  In her spare time, Oleen enjoys gardening and she loves going to church.  Commenting on her time as an employee here, she states, “I enjoy my work, my co-workers, and especially my home visits with the patients.”  Her supervisor, Georgia Moyers notes, “Oleen is a very conscientious, dedicated, and hardworking employee.  I appreciate her very much.”

 Karla Cook has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for March 2009! 

Karla Cook has been employed with CCH and NH since October 17, 2005, and currently works as a monitor tech in the CCU.  Karla was nominated for Employee of Month by fellow employee, Anthony Rowe who stated, “Karla always goes the extra mile to help her co-workers by volunteering to pick up meds, take lab specimens to the laboratory, or anything she can do to help a fellow employee.  She always has a smile on her face and a cheerful heart.  She is greatly appreciated.”  As far as her personal life, Karla currently resides with her finace’, Travis Crockett.  She has three children, Cody, age 21, Kayla, age 19, and Johna, age 17, whom she states are the center of her life.  In her spare time, Karla, along with her family, rescue stray dogs and nurse them back to health.  After the dogs are in good condition, Karla tries to find them permanent homes.  Commenting on her time as an employee here, Karla notes, “I love the nurses that I work with on a professional and personal basis.  I love my job and it makes me feel that in some way I am contributing to the world around me.”  CCU and ER Supervisor, Kim Runions, states, “I appreciate all of Karla’s hard work and her willingness to help others. She is a good employee.”   

Sherry Douglas has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for February 2009! 

Employee of Month 2009-02

Sherry has been employed with this facility since June 14, 1993, as an LPN in the Nursing Home.  She was nominated for Employee of the Month by her fellow co-workers at the Nursing Home who stated, “Sherry is not just a nurse but she’s a bright face, a warm smile, and she has a kind heart.  For residents who do not prefer their meal, Sherry will take her own money and go and buy them what they want. When the CNAs are overwhelmed, she will come out on the floor to help out with feeding or anything we ask of her.  If Sherry is working, it is guaranteed the residents will have the best care possible and the families feel secure.”

Sherry comes from a family of three sisters and one brother and she has one daughter, Natasha.   In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, crafts, and quilting.  She also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend of 13 years, Dan, loves riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and is a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr.  Commenting on her time as an employee here, Sherry states, “I truly enjoy my job but most of all I love caring for the residents and being able to put a smile upon their faces.  I also appreciate all of the C.N.A.’s hard work and their dedication to their jobs and to the care of the residents. ”  Steven Cupp, DON Nursing Home, states, “Sherry is a true asset to this facility who goes the extra mile to make sure the residents are comfortable and well taken care of.  I appreciate all of her hard work and loyalty to this facility.”

Danny Lundy has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for January 2009!

Employee of Month 2009-01Danny became employed with this facility on February 21, 1984, as a housekeeper.  He was nominated for Employee of the Month by multiple co-workers who stated, “Danny is known for his willingness to help others and for the outstanding job that he does.  He always goes above and beyond his job duties and will do anything that is asked of him.” 

Danny comes from a family of 2 brothers and 3 sisters, with one sister, Annie Lundy, being his twin. He has lived in Claiborne County all of his life and has been married to his wife, Anita, for almost six years.  As far as any past times, his reputation is well know around town as being a hard worker, so many people keep Danny employed with odd jobs.  Danny states, “I have seen several changes at this facility over the past 25 years and they have always helped the facility grow.  I love working here because of the people and consider it an honor to be employed here.  My main goal is to do the best job I can do and help the residents and public down life’s way. I feel like God has given me a gift so I try to use it the best I can each day.”  Environmental Services Supervisor, Ron Hayes, states, “ Danny is one of the hardest working individuals I know.  He is always willing to help with anything I ask and he does it with pride.  I appreciate all of his hard work and his loyalty to this facility.”
