Bennie Carter has
been chosen as Employee of the Month for October 2007!
Bennie began working at Claiborne County
Hospital and Nursing Home on September 27, 1970, as a C.N.A. under the
supervision of Alice Johnson. Bennie states, “Mrs. Johnson taught me
some important things that have served me well throughout my working
career and I haven't forgotten them. She taught me to treat every

me and to leave personal problems at home. I still try to follow these
rules today.” After leaving CCH, Bennie moved to Miamisburg, Ohio. She
moved back home to Tennessee and on September 12, 1988, she began
working once again at CCH in the Physical Therapy Dept. At that time,

the Rehab Dept. for over 20 years. She has been instrumental in
orienting all the new PT staff into hospital routines and procedures.
She always treats her patients with respect, kindness, and is always

grandchildren. Bennie’s hobbies include reading, writing poetry,
spending time with her family and going to Liberty Baptist Church.
Bennie notes, “ I am blessed to have a good supervisor, Barry Thomas,
and to have such a wonderful Rehab Team. The creed that I live and work
by: Lord grant me a heart of compassion; so burdened for others’ needs,
that I will show you kindness in attitudes, words, and deeds. Thank you
Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home for allowing me to be part of
your team!” |

Roger
Hall has been chosen as the Employee of the Month for May 2007!
Roger began working at
Claiborne County Hospital in 1975 in the housekeeping department where
he worked for approximately 2 years. Later, he transferred to the
maintenance department and remained there for 10 years. In 1987, he
left the hospital to work as an aide in a home health agency where he
was employed for 10 years. On May 2, 1994, Roger gladly came “home” to
the hospital to continue his career as a home health aide. Roger was
nominated for Employee of the Month by his supervisor, Georgia Moyers,
who stated, “Roger is always there for his patients, fellow employees,
and family. He has been known to carry water into a patient’s home so
he could bathe the patient and he has carried wood into a patient’s home
so they would have enough heat until their family came home.” Roger
has been married to Lisa Woods Hall since 1986 and they have four
beautiful children, Lauren, age 17, Lindsey, age 15, Chandra, age 5, and
Xavery, age 18 months. Roger and his family are faithful members of
Lone Hill Baptist Church. Roger’s favorite leisure time activities
include working in his yard and construction. Commenting on his time as
an employee here, Roger states, “It is just unreal the changes I have
seen since 1975. Sometimes I would board up the windows in the
patients’ rooms to keep the cold out. The food has always been good here
and in 1975, the cafeteria always smelled like a bakery. I would eat 2
and sometimes 3 meals a day from the cafeteria. I thought it was the
best food in the world.” Home Health Administrator, Georgia Moyers,
comments, “Roger exemplifies what we all should strive to be –
compassionate, unselfish, and committed to customer service. He is
truly a good person.”

Stella Helton has been chosen as the
Employee of the Month for April 2007. Stella became an
employee with Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home on
September 19, 2000 and started in the Laundry department. Later she
transferred to the Housekeeping department where she has remained

above her job duties and smiles at everyone. Stella cleans extra
areas when work is slow. For example, she was picking up cigarette
butts out of the mulch in front of the hospital and we also found
her cleaning windows.” Stella’s good work ethic shines through her
everyday job duties as she points out, “Areas of the hospital are a
reflection on the hospital. If they are not clean, then that makes
the hospital look bad.” When it comes to Stella’s personal life,
she has been married to Ronald Helton for 10 years. Together they
have 3 children and 8 grandchildren with whom Stella loves to spend
time. She also enjoys gardening, growing flowers, but most of all,

hospital so I chose CCH and I am so glad I did. I love my job here
and the people are great and so friendly. My mother always told me
to do my best no matter what I am doing so I always try my best to
make sure everything is clean.” Ron Hayes, Environmental Services
Manager, states, “Stella exemplifies the type of employees that we
have in the environmental services department. She always
demonstrates a consistent level of performance and maintains a
steady level of productivity. Her exemplary work ethic is a big
asset to this department and the facility. She is well deserving of
this award.“ The Staff of Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing
